Tasmanian architect Stuart Tanner will lead you through the natural landscape to discover the wonder of the elegantly cantilevered Sentinel Lookout, a dynamic yet refined viewing platform located in Launceston’s iconic Cataract Gorge. This is bespoke piece of public infrastructure for Tasmania’s wild places is situated approximately halfway along the Duck Reach walking track within the Gorge. Stuart will expertly navigate you through the process of design and installation of this suspension steel structure creating a dramatic extension of the platform into the landscape. This is an opportunity to get an insight into the thinking and processes of this unique project.

Address: Walking tours to depart from Denison Road car park then walk down to Sentinel Lookout
Date/time: Pre-booked tours at 11am & 1pm. Appropriate sand shoes/walking shoes required for a light bush-walk. Easy walk with a steep grade and some uneven ground. Children must be supervised at all times.
