Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania, and Mr Richard Warner warmly welcome visitors to Government House Tasmania Open Day.  This significant site has been home to Tasmania’s Governors since 1858, a fine example of an early Victorian country house in neo-Gothic style and one of the largest of its type in Australia. Set on a grand estate on 15 hectares overlooking Hobart and the Derwent River, Government House is one of the great historical Vice‑Regal residences.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the spacious formal gardens and Tasmanian live music. (Please note: pets are not permitted.)

Non-alcoholic refreshments and hot food will be available at modest prices from the Rotary Club of Howrah stall.

Parking will be available outside of the grounds on the day but please phone (03) 6234 2611 if you would like to request special access by vehicle for elderly or disabled visitors.
