The University of Tasmania’s newest student housing development is now open. Featuring more than 440 apartments, student and public spaces both indoor and out, this $88 million project is transforming central Hobart.Designed by Hobart architecture practice Terroir in association with Fender Katsalidis Architects, Hobart City Apartments is intended to play an active role in Hobart’s future development. A key component of the design is the extension of the public realm through the site, encouraging the broader community to engage with the university. The student housing development employs sustainable design strategies to achieve a five-star Green Star rating for environmental design.
