Photographer: Pod Inn

The Pod Inn channels iconic Japanese style capsule accommodation and brings it to Launceston. Futuristic sleeping pods are stacked inside an existing brick building that has previously been home to TasTafe and more recently, a signwriting business. Get along and see where guests experience sleeping in pods that provide a private bed along with individualised lighting control and ventilation, with shared common spaces. This is a cosy and unique accommodation experience providing Launceston with a new accommodation typology, filling a gap in the market between regular hotels and backpacker hostels – though one not for the claustrophobic!
