Open House Hobart is about showing off secret places to architecture fans, mystery lovers and sticky beaks.   It’s a great annual opportunity to visit unusual and fascinating buildings that are rarely open to the public.  This year you can join a free group ride exploring some of the historic buildings in Hobart that you may not have visited before.

Ride Leader Greg Dutkowski has designed a route taking in a bunch of key historic buildings (see below).  The schedule is flexible and open to adjustment on the day depending on the interests of the riders.  The only fixed time is the start time and the first stop at Anglesea Barracks, where there is a tour scheduled at 10am. (Note – you can book online for the tour of Angesea Barracks or just turn up with the group).   Let Greg know if there is anything you particularly want to see on the day.

The ride will follow roads, footpaths and bikepaths, and is suitable for experienced riders.

Bring a picnic lunch for the proposed lunch stop at Cornelian Bay – there is also a cafe kiosk there.

Meet: at the Hobart Bicycle Network Office, 210 Collins Street, at 9.40am.  The ride will start at 9.50am.

Expected finish time: 4pm, back at 210 Collins Street.
