This walking tour explores the architecture of the Macquarie Street spine in order to unravel the design of nineteenth-century buildings and cities. Dr Stuart King, who lectures in architectural history at the University of Melbourne, and represents interests in heritage and conservation on Tasmanian Heritage Council, will share his expertise on the architecture of the nineteenth century with some twentieth-century diversions for those who like their streets and styles streamlined.
